Our cultural and artistic concept is a contribution to the recognition of the valuable indigenous cultures of Costa Rica. Their philosophy is based on the unit of nature and humanity. This includes the choice of the name "Luz de Luna" (= Moonlight) and their translation "Dat Tebej" in Brunca, the language of those who lived before the Spanish conquest in the area of San José. There pre-Colombian stylizations of important ritual animals such as monkeys, iguanas and the feathered serpent in the room designs, the Moon and the Owl in the reception, represent the indigenous world view.

In the decoration of the restaurant you will find materials with indigenous patterns and, the menu, typical indigenous recipes and ingredients. Our version of the "Nueva Cocina Costarricense" is a fusion of local cuisine with Spanish European and Afro-Caribbean elements. Exhibitions of Arts and crafts in the restaurant are an integral part of the artistic concept; Costa Rican artists and specialists were involved in their development.
